Investor Visa to Malaysia.

The Government of Malaysia has initiated the "My Second Home in Malaysia" (MM2H) program, which allows foreigners to visit the country repeatedly and reside in Malaysia without time limits. The visa, which is an analogue of permanent residence card, is initially issued for a period of 10 years and can be extended.

Program participants (applicants) can bring spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 years into the country as dependents.

Financial requirements.

Applicants must have the financial ability to support themselves and their family members and are not allowed to work while in Malaysia.

At the stage of registration of the application.

Applicants under the age of 50 must provide evidence of liquid assets worth at least 500,000 RM (Malaysian ringgit) and income of 10,000 RM per month.

Applicants aged 50 years and older - in the amount of 350,000 RM in respect of liquid assets and income in the amount of 10,000 RM per month.

Pensioners - holders of state pensions - may limit themselves to documents on receipt of a pension in the amount of at least 10,000 RM per month.

After approval of the application.

Applicants under the age of 50. Must open an urgent deposit account in the amount of 300,000 RM. After one year, the program participant will be able to withdraw up to RM 150,000 for expenses related to the acquisition of housing, education for children in Malaysia and medical purposes. As part of this program, it is necessary to maintain a minimum balance of 150,000 RM from the second year onwards throughout your stay in Malaysia.

Applicants aged 50 and over. Must open an urgent deposit account in the amount of 150,000 RM. After one year, a participant may withdraw up to 50,000 RM for the expenses set forth in the previous paragraph. It's need to maintain a minimum balance of 100,000 RM from the second year and throughout your stay in Malaysia.

Medical report.

Applicants and dependents must submit a medical report from any private hospital or registered clinic in Malaysia.

Medical insurance:

Applicants and dependents must have valid medical insurance coverage applicable in Malaysia from any insurance company.

Exceptions may be granted for certain categories of applicants if health insurance lack is related to age or health.

Application & Visa Processing Procedure:

1: Preparation of the application.

The applicant must submit an application online directly or through an authorized agent.

2: Approval of the application. A letter of conditional approval of the application is issued to the applicant in the Immigration Department of the MM2H Center.

3: Arrival in Malaysia. It is necessary:

- open a mandatory deposit account with any bank in Malaysia for a period of one year with automatic renewal,

- purchase health insurance from any insurance company in Malaysia,

- get a medical certificate at any private hospital or registered clinic in Malaysia.

4: Providing missing documents. Recipient - Immigration Department of the MM2H Center.

5: Obtaining a residence visa. A visa is issued for the validity of the passport, but not more than 10 years.

Important additions.

All copies of documents must be certified in accordance with the requirements established by the country of origin of the document.

If the original documents are not issued in English, the translation must be done by a certified translator.

Dependent family members (dependants) - refer to the spouse, unmarried children under the age of 21 years (maximum 6 months before reaching the age of 21), as well as parents aged 60 years and older.

The application processing process takes 90 business days from the date of application submission (provided that the documentation is completed in full and in accordance with the requirements).

A few interesting facts in addition. Following the results of 2019, the MM2H program is the absolute leader in the number of applications submitted (7,904) among all Investor Visa programs. 35% of the program participants are Chinese citizens.
